My blower motor is just about had it. Does it matter If I install new blower motor without acoustical barrier. Will it fit the same?

I am guessing the acoustical barrier is some kind of noise muffler.

My 2001 has a place to cut around the blower motor to access it without removing the whole cover.

 

This is the second blower motor in 2 years last one was economy put in by shop.

So the accoustical barrier is not part of the blower motor and I should not need acoustical barrier.? I was a little confused on what exactly the acoustical barrier was.
