Default Heater/air issues

Hi all. I am new to your site but hope to get some good info here. I have been reading some of the previous posts, and things are looking like I chose a good forum. In reading the previous post I found quite a few that reference heater issues or air condition issues, but none that address my particular problem, the heating and the air together. I bought my 2000 Blazer LS 4x4 about six months ago (the second one I have owned, had an 88 for about six years. Anyway, onto the issue at hand, this past summer when I was using my air conditoner it would only work sparodically. It blew cold for a bit and then blow neutral air (neither cold or hot). Now that winter is here my heater is doing the same thing. I don't know if any one else on the forum is from Maryland (originally Alabama) but it gets damn cold up here about this time of year, so I can no longer put off addressing the issue as I did when it was the air. It is not running hot at any time. Any help or advice greatly appreciated. Thanks.

is the diverter directing air where it should be? ie Defrost switch position blows through the defrost duct.

Lemme look into it further.

Thanks, guys. The thread that you linked me to helped. It appears that I did not have enough antifreeze in my reservoir. I filled it up, and I now have some heat. It does stop blowing hot though when you slow way down or stop. Once I get the engine turning though it heats back up. Is this normal? Anyway, I am just glad to have some heat since it is about 24 degrees here with an even lower wind chill. Not to mention the ice storm they are saying we may have tomorrow[:'(]. Well, agian, I just wanted to say thanks to those of you who responded to my post.
