Got it, and hence my suspicion as to the scene of the crime. If I am wrong then we move on to the 5 modules and their wiring:

I'm thinking that the heavy black lines in the right figure are bus bars - 6 and 12 are connected. Ditto in the diagram you sent me. Top of the page, dark line connecting fuses 6 and 12 in ip fuse panel.

 

Yep. that's your next move.

So be it. This is a blazer forum and I have Blazer diagrams. If you have better info then use that. Either way, the job is to find the short to power and I am still betting on M6 to N7 on the back of the IP fuse panel regardless of the number of modules. If I am wrong then its on to your diagram. Post it and I will help you track it down. I am hoping for my current theory because that will be way easier than getting into the dash, wiring harnesses, taking modules offline one at a time, ...

Posted that before I read your last post. (Playing with my new tools)
I'll try to get a look/ pictures of the back of the fuse panel. It'll be a few minutes.

 

I have lousy verbal skills. Re-reading my posts, a lot of them come across as heavy handed when they were not meant to be. Take the "four module" post as an example. I meant it as "Yaaay! We have only 4 modules to check on the Sonoma., not 5" In print, it comes across as "Nope. You're wrong!! Only four modules!" I'm old, live alone, don't talk much and text even less, so posts often come out sounding different than I mean them to.

Anyway, can't find my endoscope. Might be at a buddy's garage. Might be a day or 2. I will not post it on Thanksgiving. Didn't realize that that this was "live" until last night. Are you usually on here till midnight, or did I keep you up last night?
