Default Heating issues

New to this site. We have a 2001 bravada and it might have a leak in the radiator. Ive seen on here that some dont recomend bars leak as it might clog the heater core. Is it just with blazers Ive used it in other vehicles with no trouble. But going down the road it heats ok but idle and parked it blows cool air. Also we cant get the radiator cap all the way off. Itll turn so far and we cant get that sucker the rest of the way of. This is our first blazer type vehicle Ive never encountered a cap we couldnt get all the way off. Any thoughts would be a great help thanks.

Blowing cold air might be a bad thermostat.
i have used bars stop leak before to get me limped past a leaking lowr manifold. I would use ot as a temp fix then once problem is fixed flush the heater core and system...should be good to go.

I have a difficultly in getting the rad cap off as well, takes me several tries to get the darn thing all the way off. It will unseal with no problem, but getting it to rotate so that it will lift off....again several tries.

I have pressed down with both hands...nope...no pressing down at all...nope. Then tried one hand pressing down...nope...just kept trying and finally it just turned and off it came.

Keep after it.....it will come off.

Check the coolant temp gauge (if working)....what is the reading?

Radiators usually leak around the plastic tanks seal and usually when cooling down. Radiators are pretty cheap for these vehicles and easy to swap out....messy, but easy.
