Hello new to the forum have. Need help please....
I have a 95 Chevy s10 blazer 4x4 now I'm having a problem with cold starts I live in Fla so it's not that cold now the problem is when I start my truck it was fine then it started to not start after it being parked just long enough to run in the store i was thinking fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator but I put the fuel pressure tester on it and it has 55 psi and it takes about 30 to 45 minutes then it only goes down 5 psi now this morning I got it started and it runs great i stop by my brothers shop for about 30 minutes and it won't start I push down on the Schrader valve and there is alot of pressure but it's air my brother said it was vapor locked the question is how to fix this problem and what could cause it thank you for your time in advance cris
Mike.308 thanks for the info is it possible the fuel pump could just be going bad it's just been replaced about a year ago
thank you again for the help I think my next step is to pull the plenum off and check my fuel pressure regulator and see if there is any leaks from the spider injector, process of elimination
A $ 20 fuel injection pump test kit from harbor freight connected to the schrader valve at the motor and then connected to the fuel filter outlet will determine which end is the problem. Requlator or pump.
Something just come on my mind. Your pump may have problem with initial priming. I might be wring, but I think it has a separate wiring for priming relay and a normal operation.
I would suggest connecting the tester to a schrader prior cranking the engine. Once You turn the key into ignition, a relay should click (engage) the priming and You should hear a second or two of buzzing pump into a tank. Check out the fuel pressure reading after priming.

A few things:
Your fuel pressure test results are marginal. Take another look at the sticky describing the process and minimum pressures. Do you know the brand of the replacement pump? There are brands with considerable repeat early failures with some documenting needing to replace a new pump in a matter of months. AC Delco and Delphi have the best reputation.
A pressure test does involve the entire system from the pump to the pressure regulator including the injectors, filter, lines, at least the ability to initially pressurize and hold that pressure. There are many issues that this test does not verify such as injector balance/quantity, pump performance while heating up, regulator consistency, etc.
What was the fuel pressure when there was vapor in the line? Did You bleed the vapor out of the line through the Schraeder on the fuel rail and did the truck then start and run OK?
