My blazer was picky when it wanted to pop the hood, so sometimes i had to hit the hood above the latch for it to unlock, but now i noticed that the tension spring is broken. does anyone know where i can find a replacement?

 

Probably a junkyard part... Keep it lubed up once you get it fixed. The hood not popping is a common problem.

 

I had a 95 (daughter rolled & totaled), have a 96 and 2002. All three have / had problems with the hood spring release. Before the 95 got totaled and the 96 problem was resolved by stretching the spring out to have it have more push. The same stretching on the 2002 though did not resolve and still needs two people to open the hood. If it's broken though the salvage yard is first place to look as mentioned in the other reply.
