no brake lights but top brake light works. new brake switch. fuses are good. heard it could be multifunction switch. please help

 

Do your hazards still work? Does messing with the hazard switch allow the brake lights to work?

You could try just replacing the hazard switch alone which is MUCH easier and MUCH more economical than replacing the entire multifunction switch.

 

i've replace the hazard flasher but they still dont work

 

The hazard flasher is not the same thing as the hazard switch. The hazard switch is what you push on top of the steering column. It pulls out with a simple pair of pliers.

 

haven't tried that. could that be the problem? is there any way of bypassing it?
