help with a/c

just got a new a/c pump, old one lasted 9 years, i have a 98 blazer s-10 what side is the suction side to add the oil?
i was told to use 8 oz. of oil and the system holds 38 oz of r134a

any advice here thanks glen

You should have 2 connector couplings. The larger one is the low pressure (suction) side. I would recommend having it recharged professionally unless you have a vacuum pump to evacuate the system, or you will never get a full charge of R134a in to it.

i put the new compressre in and the clutch will not ingage, put meter on it and there 0 volts, i jumped the comulator switch and also got 0 volts at the connector to the clutch, there is also another switch behind the compressre i jumped and again 0 volts, next i went to the fuse box chk'd all fuses, and switched the a/c relay with the horn, and again 0 volts............... some one please help, any one have a scmatic ( wire diagram) of the a/c area? thanks glen

update put 12 volts to clutch, comes on and cools, but i stoll do not get any volts out of connector to the clutch ( i also have the auto climate controll in my blazer 89 LT blazer.

Hey man,

Not to rain on your parade, but like chevy lover said you're not doing yourself any favors not doing the job right with a vacuum pump. That's going to throw all the pressures in the system out of whack (perhaps causing the problem you're currently having) and it leaves a lot of water in the system that will eventually corrode out that new compressor you just put in.

Just so you know.
