Help...Engine Failure
Hello, I have owned and maintained a 1998 Chevy mini blazer since 2000 and have a question I believe may be answered after hearing what happened today.
It’s cold and windy here in Rochester, NY. I started the truck this morning to warm up prior to leaving for work and once ready to leave the vehicle stalled. It started right back up and when I gave it some gas to raise the rpm's... it seemed to fire strange like not all cylinders were firing and/or it was not getting the proper fuel. Within a minute the engine stalled and would not start again? Once before this truck experienced a vapor lock and worked fine the next day. Also had a new fuel pump installed many years ago. Battery is fine and plugs/wires are no more than three years old. Could anyone give some tips as to what I should check before arranging to have it towed and looked at?
Thank you in advance!

I suggest grabbing a fuel pressure gauge and follow the steps in 96+ Fuel System Diagnosisto rule out or locate a fuel system problem.
