Help with my interior lights.

Well First, I installed an aftermarket alarm (Hornet) So everytime I turn the car on with the doors closed it would look, well I guess I never closed my door hard enough because it would come slightly open while I was driving and later blew my motor for the driverside door locks. This is the weird part, anytime i lock the doors automatically (inside or outside the car) my lights would come off and then if I unlocked it'd turn off again, but now I just have to open the door and close it. Also, I have to close my door in a certain way or else my lights will stay on, and I tried holding in the plastic pin needle and all that did was stop the buzzing noise instead of stopping the buzzing noise and turn off the lights. Now my brother said to pull out the light bulbs (reading lamp, dome, and foot light) what bout that idea?
any help would be greatly appreciated. i have 4 1o's and 2 amps and a nice head unit in my blazer (actually it's a jimmy) so when I go to school I always worry about it getting broken into.
oh yeah I forgot I have a 97' 4 dr jimmy 2 wheel drive.

Sounds like a faulty door switch to me.
I don't imagine a new door switch would cost much and they're easy to replace.

So where can I get one and how will I install it? Also, what does it exactly do?
