hid flicker 2002 blazer
I just bought hids through ebay(i know.....hard times). And i put them on my blazer turn them on and i get an annoying flicker from both sides?? They act almost like a candle in the wind an they dont flicker in unison either one will do it for a few seconds an then the other for a few seconds. This will happen with the truck on or off it does no matter. I thought that the ballast boxes were not getting a steady current so i bought the relay harness kit and that did not one thing. So my other blazer lovers who has had this issue and what can i do to make this stop

The problem happens because the computer senses a 35W draw as opposed to a 55W draw and goes into diagnostic mode trying to figure out what's happening.
I think you need something like this to fix the problem.

But someone with hid's in their 2nd gen might be able to give you some more information.

The computer has no means of knowing that you have HID lights.
The flickering could be due to a charging system problem causing voltage swings, but since the relay harness did not cure the problem, it could be poor connections in the wiring to/from the ballasts and or relay or it could be bad ballasts.

Yeah i know the computer does not care if there is even 3v at the head light socket they still wouldnt flicker. But yeah i have gone over the wireing time and time again every connector is nice and tight. Now i called the company i bought them from(east coast hid) an they said they can do this for up to 20hrs beacuse the gas needs to settle........ that sounds like a load o b.s to me cuz how much gas is in those things they look like neddles i cant see it taking 20hrs to fix it self should i just call them and get some new ballasts. This really stumps me i have been workin on chevys proffecianally for 5 years(obviously not on hids) but i can not see why they are doing this......also checked voltage at o.e connector 12.45 vlt and no drop???
