High speed vibration

Learned something about my 97 Blazer this weekend. Have been hearing a rumbling or growl coming from the rear of the truck. I thought it was from the AT tires I have on it. Then at about 60mph a vibration started and would stop if I put on the brakes.
After thinking about it for awhile I decided to pull the left rear axle out (was where the growling seemed to come from) and found the bearing to be shot with a nice little groove worn in the axle.
About 2 hours later and $200 for an axle kit from a parts store and two bottles of gear lube, had it fixed. I also needed a slide hammer bearing puller, rented from the parts store.
Vibration and growl are gone.....
