highway driving and died
Hey, that's what happened to me the other day and now its parked in the ditch. I had a hunch it was the cap and rotor so I gently filed off the bit of corrosion on the rotor and cleaned the points inside rotor. It fired right up and died again five minutes later and now will not start again. These 2 pieces were replaced 1 year ago with a new fuel pump. Fuel pump powers up with key and plenty of pressure at Schrader valve. Was just wondering why it would start again after that fix and how perfect does that copper point on rotor need to be ? Thanks fellas

mabey it is the pump?, I had buddy listen close for it while I turned the key being outside and windy and all. it is not making the hum that it used to. I put a delco rebuild pump kit from ebay in a year ago and its has been working great ever since.!? idid not even bother with trying new rotor or dis cap.
