First time replacing GM hinge pins and bushings. The bushings appear to have been gone quite awhile (bought used) and the pin had worn the round slot it goes through out of round. I got them in but the top bushing had slipped down as was tapping the pin through. Didn't notice it til i had the pin all the way in. It stays in but slipped down some.
Question is, if i start trying to knock the bushing back up will it come apart on me? Got the replacement parts from Oreilly and seem to be better quality. Or should i just leave it alone as it seems to hold ok.
Also any thoughts on how to overcome these out of round slots the pins go through when i do the other door? The bushing would stay in place on the top slot on the upper pin, but not by much.
