Default Hinge Replacement- Rear passenger door

I noticed that one of the rear doors hinge pin/bushings needs some help, but I can't figure out how to access the spring to release it. A search usually only gets me the front doors and I can't find my Haynes book at the moment. Anyone have any insight?

Thanks

You need a door spring release tool. Not commonly found at normal auto parts stores.I would try NAPA or if you have access to a snap on or other tool distributer. You may need to pull the rubber boot out from the door to pillar to fit tool and try from the inside rear or open the front door and do it from the rear(haha)I have also done it once on my 80 trans am with 3 pieces of [B]STRONG[B] wire.Slide pieces through the spring spaced out and tighten each evenly with vice grips.Remove and be VERY CARFUL.Especially when you reinstall and release.Good luck man.

spring compresser = $5 or less at Harbor freight Tools.

if you never plan on using it again, just return it when you are finished with the job.

I already have the tool. I did the front recently. Access to the rear spring looks a lot different. I'll take a look at removing the boot. It doesn't seem accessible from the front.

Are the pins on the rear the same as the pins on the front?

I have a spring release tool. It's called a tire iron. I doesn't work for installation, though.
