Hi i have a 1996 blazer LS 4 door 4 wheel drive with 191 000 km body is in great shape bought it for 700 replaced the muffler brakes fuel lines and brake lines front to back new fuel and air filter full synthetic oil change (ams oil 0w-30) brand new tires new alternator and the previous owner did the cap and rotor and plugs and wires ...the truck runs like a champ lots of power....but i fill the take full and im lucky if i get 400 km to the tank so about 14 mpg and i drive it easy no burnouts or excessive speeding ...i have no CEL codes and no fuel leaks my fuel pump runs at a steady 52 PSI and jumps to 60 when i turn the key off and stays i also changed the theremostat and cleaned the intake and MAF sensor and had an alignment done so anyone have any ideas

I think you are in the ball park of mpg.
It depends if you are talking city or highway driving.

I got a 97 and on the average I get about 15-16 city and 20-23 highway.
A little lower during the winter months.
Check the website below.

Hey! Wayner1011! Keep in mind that the 96's had smaller tanks than the later years. And if Ya be in Hamilton in January-the fuel economy will suffer! More warm up time, cold tranny and rear end all contribute to lower fuel mileage! Even when the vehicle is "warmed-up"! There were times I had as low as 12-13 when the temps dropped to -13 and -20* in northern NH(4x4 too) Now that I moved to a so called warmer climate: mileage ranges from 16-18 mpg on flat ground-where in warmer situations 24 is easily attainable! Fully normal in your location in Ontario!Just to rub it in...I attained 27MPG running east across Kansas in Nov with a hard tail wind on I-70!Awesome!

Well my calculations were based on highway driving so I'm guessing I'm actually below the average but as of today I'm having some major fuel system issues I filled my tank up today and had the pleasure of watching the fuel poor out on the ground so I dropped the tank and could not find the problem the gas was coming down in front of the rear driverside tire the tank is brand new the fuel pump seal is not leaking and the valve on the front of the tank is working properly aswell my only guess is the evap canister maybe but my older brother decided to plug the valve on the from of the tank and bypass the evap canister entirely Is that a bad idea? Why? And any idea where I can find a fuel system diagram

I typically get about 16 city and 19 highway, but it is defineatly less than that in the winter for my 98 4wd blazer.
