Exclamation How to check serpentine belt wear

Hi all,

I stumbled on a couple useful little things that I thought you'd all appreciate.

These are a couple videos that explain how modern serpentine belts wear differently than the earlier neoprene ones. This is important since detecting when a belt is near the end of its life is different for both.

First video with description of how belts show their wear:

Page with second video on how to check wear using the latest (free) tool from Gates: How to Check Serpentine Belts for Wear | Gates Corporation

On the second page is a link that will direct you to where you can request a free tool for checking belt wear.

Hope this is useful to people.

Christine
