Default How do I take out and replace a broken window?

So today, I got backed into directly on my drivers door. It smashed in the whole door, and the handles bolt was pushed into the glass and broke it. I'm either going to buy a new, different colored door off craigslist or just get a new window from our local junkyard. I have no clue how to take out or replace a window, so can anyone help me with this?

if its crumpled that bad , replace the door IMO
Unless the window was open at the time of impact , it was twisting of the entire door that broke the glass

Sorry man that sh*T SUCK'S. unfortunately your in a fly by the seat of your pant's situation. Collision repairs are out of the internet. The guys that do them correctly are artists in there own. Your going to have to take the door apart and see what you can twist and bang yourself. If it's not to bad mechanically..............You know what do yourself a favor and find a junkyard door. They only came in so many colors. Craigs list is the last place. With the internet, places with blazer doors in the correct color will only take a small amount of time. Always include S10 in your search. Google "salvage blazer/s10"

Pretty easy to remove/replace the door glass. Remove the door panel and you will see what is required to unbolt the glass from the tracks. Need to either buy or make a tool that fits around the door panel xmas-tree / push-in fastners. Bad thing is the door panels are plastic and the area around these fastners will break and then the door panel has nothing to hold it to the door. This tool helps but is not perfect.....need to be careful.

Good luck.
