How to get into my car because of flat battery and key only fit the tail gate?
#1
Hi.
The car has been standing unused all winter and i was trying to get into the car a little while ago to open the hood and charge the battery.
But the battery is all dead, the keys does not work in the drivers or passenger door but it works in the tailgate which is electric operated.
I tried the tailgate but no way i can open the glass.
This is a 1999 2 door ZR2 if that matters
Note that i usually use the remote to open the tailgate
Does the rear window need power to open since it does not open using the key?
I have noticed that the rear window can be like it is vacumed closed but..
Any suggestions on the most easy way to get into my car?
So i can charge the battery

Hi and thanks
The problem is solved
I tried that but not for long...
I used a metal wire hanger to try to open the hood and he hood got open on the second try
It was incredible easy and took me no more than 30 seconds
So now the battery is being charged as we speak
But strange that i could not open the rear window using the key that fit the lock.....

Nice, glad you got it figured out, I've had to go in thru the top of the door a few times myself...the keys are usually in the truck when it happens though lol. Pulling the hood release was a good idea in your situation

Thanks
I just cant belive how easy it wasto open the hood just using a metal clothes hanger that i straighten out and made a little hook on and just got behind the lever that opens the hood.. As i said, it took me 30 seconds..
