Default How in hell plug

I was doing some basic maintenance on my 01 blazer (4.3l). On my agenda was to flush the radiator. I couldn't find any similar posts on this topic but first off it took me forever to locate what i believe to be the drain plug. if any1 could confirm or advise. It appeared to be located on the passenger side or the radiator directly below the bottom hose. If true are there any good techniques to turning the thing. I couldn't come up with any good plans on how to do so.

I ended up just removing the bottom hose. I got tired of trying to turn it.

Insert a 1/4" drive ratchet or short extension into the plug, turn counterclockwise about a 1/4 turn and pull out on the plug.

I thought they did away with the drain plug in 2000 or 2001? Are you sure youve found the drain plug...?

Yes, there is a drain plug and it is a PITA. I found it much easier to pull the lower hose rather than risking breaking that plastic petcock valve.

Of course when pulling the hose you gotta be careful not to break the radiator itself... seems the older the radiator the easier they break.

I just pull my hoses off, the stupid drain valve empties it slow and id rather just pull my hoses and let any crap out.
