Does your clutch on the compressor kick on when the ac is turned on? Or does it blow heat no matter what temp is selected? If so check this thread https://blazerforum.com/m_144679/tm.htm If that's not the case, they sell a recharge kit that has a dye in the refridgerant and comes with a uv light to make it easier to locate a leak in the system. If all of your refridgerant has been evacuated from the system, you may need it to be placed under a vacuum(not a vacuum cleaner). An a/c shop would have to do it.
its not really hot or cold but it blows cold air on cold days so i think i just need to recharge it i haven't heard or seen that kind of recharge kit that has dye in it that you were talking about
It's got a green dye in it, here's a link to the page at autozone, they sell uv lights also. might I add that if the leak is bad enough, you could probably tell where it is coming from without this. clicky
How long have you had your blazer and what year is it? Usually you won't lose anything unless there is a leak somewhere orsomething was taken apart or replaced that required removal of a line. Has the truck been sitting for a long period of time? Depending on the severity of the leak, they do have an a/c stop leak, don't know if it really works or not though. Have you checked to see if your system was empty yet? Because if you have a charge then you're looking at a whole different problem.
Yah I can speak for the failure of stop leak. The Ingrasol manufactured one I think it was it comes in a white can and Walmart has it doesnt work. I put the stop leak and the charge kit with stop leak and it still leaked out, maybe it works if the leak is very very very small, but a week after I did mine it was just like $40 in the air. But yah for me it isn't a major issues if my AC doesn't work since I'm in Maine and were lucky to get a few 90* days a year.
