What exactly is a A.i.r. system(pump) and there is a hose that has been cut off, the one that is 1" wide & I have no idea what it connects to.... thanks!

Answered in your original post on your hose questions...

 

The hose that looks "cut-off" is the air inlet hose for the air pump. These vehicles are notorious for ingesting water into the air pump that will kill it. Extend the inlet hose into the right front fender area so it doesn't pull moisture from the engine compartment and whatever the fan kicks up during a rain.
