Default Ignition issue

Okay so I have a 1997 4 door auto blazer.
I have been having an issue with the ignition, when I turn the key to on sometimes the days lights won't come on (check engine, break, ect.) which also means the fuel pump isn't turning on so the truck won't start. I have to jiggle/beat on the steering column and then the lights and fuel pump kicks on and the truck starts.
I replaced the Ignition Lock Cylinder thinking that was the problem because you could pull the key out with the ignition on, well that wasn't the problem. I'm not sure what the issue is any help would be great.

Your vehicle uses an ignition switch that is unique to 1997. It is known to cause issues exactly like you're describing.... and other funky electrical issues too. This is a different part than the lock cylinder you installed. The switch is also mounted to the column, closer to the instrument cluster than the lock cylinder though. This thread should help: https://blazerforum.com/forum/articl...-switch-33465/
