Default installing keyless entry

I recently purchased my first blazer and joined this cool forum. It's a 04 four door 2wd, but it does'nt have keylees entry. I really want this feature and i'm trying to find out if I can get the parts and install it myself cheaper than going to the dealer. I looked under the steering wheel next to the hood release for a module but I don't see one, just an empty port.Is this where I should be looking? What should I do first? Someone please help. Thanks

A dealer would be pretty expensive I imagine. I would go to some aftermarket car audio shops and see what they have and what they would recommend. If you just want lock/unlock, it shouldn't be that much money.

That empty "port" near the hood release is the OBDII DLC, probably looks just like this...

You can get a basic Python RKE system plus the guaranteed installation for $150. Can't argue with that
