Default Intake Manifold Question

I recently noticed coolant leaking from the back side of my motor (Bellhousing to block area) Took the blazer to the shop for some ideas. He said he could not see that area of the motor very well to pinpoint it (I confirmed that he could not see much) he told me that his best guess would be the intake or maybe even the head gasket. I saw a post a while back about the same situation with a link to some directions for doing the intake job. Prefect how to directions. My question is, is this where I should start, could it be the head gasket, or does anyone have any tips or comments on doing this job yourself? the shop quoted me $500 for parts and labor if just intake. With head $850. Just a little concerned about this one guys. I don't want to spend all that time replacing the gasket and that not be it. Makes me nervous. One more thing the first two torque specs for the intakeare in inch/lbs the final torque is 11 ft/lbs. Is it possible to get 11 ft/lbs off an inch lb torque wrench. Anything you guys could give me on the entire job would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Much.

Default RE: Intake Manifold Question

I would bet money on it being just the intake manifold gaskets. You would be able to tell once you got things torn down on top of the motor, before you pull the intake.
