Default interior lights

I know the interior lights should come on when a door is opened, and I believe they should stay on for a short time when exiting the vehichle. The only time i can get the interior lights to come on is when I push the dome override button. Am I missing something?

your not missing anything from the way it sounds you may just be pushing that button too many times... open the door, if the lights come on its set right, if the lights arent on press that button if the lights come on it should work properly...close the door and watch the lights to see what they do.. I had that same problem on my 2002 and it was the switch set wrong..help that helps ya..

If I am understanding this properly, you can push the dome override button and the lights will come on, regardless of whether the doors are open or closed and that the only way to shut them off is to hit the dome override again. If that is the case, you have a faulty door switch somewhere in the system.
