PINTO MAN is an unknown quantity at this point
Default INTERMITTANT MISS

I HAVE A '96 BLAZER 4.3 AUTO 4X4 WITH 136,000 MILES ON IT. JUST RECENTLY AS I DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD, BETWEEN LIKE 45 AND 55 MPH, IT DEVELOPS A MISS OF SOME SORT. FEELS LIKE I HIT A BLAST OF AIR HEAD ON. ONLY LASTS A SPLIT SECOND. BUT IT SEEMS TO BE CONTINUOUS DURING THOSE SPEEDS. FEELS LIKE THE EQUIVELANT OF A CARB. MISS. I RECENTLY CHANGED WIRES AND PLUGS. ALSO, HAD TO REMOVE THE CAT. CONVERTER. WILL THIS AFFECT THE RUNNING? I DISABLED THE LAST SENSOR IN THE EXHAUST AFTER THE GUTTED OUT CONVERTER AND IT MADE NO DIFFERENCE. ALSO, IF I DRIVE THE BLAZER IN THAT ZONE LONG ENOUGH, THE CHECK ENGINE SOONLIGHT COMES ON BUT WILL GO AWAY AFTER JUST A FEW CYCLES OF THE KEY. ANY IDEAS? ANY SENSORS IT COULD BE? COULD THIS AFFETCT THE TRANNY SHIFTING INTO OD...DOESN'T WANT TO DO THAT MUCH ANYMORE EITHER.

Default RE: INTERMITTANT MISS

My advice would be to drive to Autozone or Advanced Auto (which ever is in your area) and have them pull the codes while the check engine light is illuminated. Once you know the codes, reply back to this thread and I'll try to diagnose your issues from there. It is very difficult to diagnose a problem even if you tell us EVERY single mundane symptom that you have noticed without knowing what the engine computer has to say.
