Here in the UK, I have no-one to ask advise.

My Chevvy wouldn't start, no reasons why. Last time it was used, it was fine. The starter motor was turning over but not engaging. It then made an awful whinning noise and I now have nothing other than the whine. I've bought another starter motor, fitted it, it turned over fine but sounded like starter packed up again.

It was two minutes of trying to turn it over, battery is fine still.

My Chevvy has always been a reliable beast, husband is wanting it gone, I'm trying my hardest to get advise before I lose it.

Please help! sob.

Maybe the problem isnt within the starter maybe something is keeping the engine from turning over.Also sometimes when you buy a new starter you have to use shims for it to get good contact with the teeth on the flywheel.
