if it's like everything else, it should already be wired in (power seats style)...
I dunno on this one though...
when you go looking for it, you will need a brain (behind the d side hush panel:

and check the FCCID to make sure you get the right key fob to program to it.

i did a search for RKE and came across some gems like
Adding RKE
and
Keyless Entry

there is a bunch of info in here

so long as you have the wire harness it SHOULD be plug and play with a programed matching remote

search it up though... it's uncommon for this to come up

use the pic above... if there is no box, but the harness is tucked up inside... then WIN!
in older vehicles... like say a 93 bravada, it would be under the cup holder 9from what i read looking for this for you)...

never saw it being in the door... maybe they were talking about the accuators that run the locks

i swung my by local dealer Monday and asked them about this mod, he thought i was an idiot, and told me that if it didn't already have key less entry, there wouldn't be the wiring there for it, now i found something under there, and i think that what it is, so this will for sure work if what ur saying, im getting a receiver out of a 2001 jimmy, and i have a 1998 blazer... id like to do this, and if i can, i guess id have to find a different dealer to program it for me, cuz my local one, has no clue apparently...

Check your RPO code's in he glove box
the GM parts can run the VIN and print out all options or use
http://www.compnine.com/vid.phpr

if you have the option all you will need is the key fob http://www.yourkeylessremote.com/(S(...)/default.aspx
