I have a 2004 Blazer 4 door base model and the gas tank has been wet around the filler neck and you can smell it on a full tank. I thought it was the filler neck hose and changed it but its still wet and i still have a gas smell, it recently started kicking an emissions code for the fuel leak. On another note the fuel sending unit has been jumping between 3/4 and 1/2 when its under half tank, I changed the fuel pump once before and its under warranty so if i need to pull the tank ill be doing the pump as well.
I coated the neck with some sealant I had at the house as a temporary fix but looks like it did not hold for long from the fuel. I dont have access to a smoke tester either but i dont see anywhere else wet besides the seam on the filler neck.
Here's what i need answered, what do you guys think about the leak? Coming from the tank neck? And does anyone have a part number for a new tank or can confirm the 1996 tank is the same as the 2004? Doorman has a tank i can buy on amazon for $120 but says it doesnt fit a 2004.
