Default License plate screws?

Hey guys.

Anyone know what the size and threading a set of licence plate bolts/screws/fasteners are for a 1997 S-10 Blazer? Both front and rear.

Realized mine lacks any bolts and I'm not sure what size I need.

Thanks!

Look at the Doman website. They sell lots of funny hardware bits. Also, there are stands at auto parts stores that will have a selection of screws for different generations of Chevys, Fords, etc.

The Dorman site doesn't seem to give me a listing for plate screws based on Year/make/model. I know they're probably a semi universal (at least between GMs of the era) but I have no frame or reference for what size, threading, and length the screws/bolts should be.

It's the same story with going to a place like O'Reilly's or Autozone. Yeah, they sell the bolts and such, but they don't list it by vehicle, instead by size of bolt and threading. Which, again, I have zero frame of reference for as my Blazer has none on it ATM.

99.9% of the time they are a very course threaded screw that screws into a nylon/plastic insert. If you have the inserts bets are that's what you need and maybe over thinking the process ....

Iirc, the rear plate area has two of those plastic inserts you speak of. I'll see about using those for reference then. Hadn't thought of that.

My only worry us those plastic inserts are only on the top two holes, not the bottom two. But are they the same either way? Additionally, same screws work for the front as well? I do have the plastic front bracket for the entire plate, but no screws to put plate on that bracket.

Maybe I am over thinking it, but I just wanna be sure is all.

Usually A plate is held on by just the top two screws. If the bottom holes are about a 1/2'' square you can add inserts there too. I have also seen A rubber insert go in the bottom hole that contacts the plate to keep vibration down

. You won't find the whole kit, but you can buy hexes and quick clamps for mounting everywhere.
