Exclamation Losing power when a/c is on

I got a 2001 chevy blazer 4dr. 4.3 v6 and just got my ac fixed. found out my high preasure was blown out. But now when I have the A/C on it feels like the truck is really trying to go. I lose power, but when its off it runs fine. any suggestions.

Are you talking a huge amount of power loss or a little? Its going to lose a tiny bit but I wouldnt think it would be enough to really be able to tell except off the line

A lot of that just depends on how you drive. I usually don't run mine up much past 2000-2500 RPM. My 95 Jimmy does seem to lose quite a bit of power with the AC on. My dad's 96 S10 pickup is the same also. Of course it's no rocket to begin with haha

@george....I am Pretty sure thats not normal but its hard to say from your description. My 4.3 gets up and goes pretty damn good and I have 33" tires on it and havent regeared it yet....Its no race car by any means but it gets me where I need to go pretty well still..

I've read about this in past posts on this forum. It seems to be inherent with this model that you notice a drag on the engine when the A/C is operating.
