loss of heat then overheat

changed heater hoses, replaced stat. filled her with water and she is gushing. Where the heater hose connects to the intake there is a adapter that the hose connects to. I can not see if it is from the adapter or the intake. Definitely not the hose. I am feeling some dread because I was hoping it would be the adapter that I could replace. Intake sounds like money.

Wait a minute, the heater hose connects to your water pump

I'm hoping it is the quick disconnect/adapter. Waiting for engine to cool and gonna look some more after I take everything back apart.

Water is flowing right under that adapter but I cannot tell if it is coming from it or if I have another issue in that area.

It's not the connector. Sigh. I can't see a crack but I can see a gap where the intake bolts down. I tried tightening it a little but it is still flowing. Dunno if it is a gasket or a warped intake. It looks a little eroded or warped in the spot where it is coming from. Guess this isn't going to be a simple fix.
