Default LOUD "creaking" noise in the front end

Well, my 2002 2dr 4wd blazer that I've owned for 5 years has been making a creaking sound in the drivers side of the front end for about a year now, when I am driving on any type of surface, going over bumps or dips in the road, whatever. I've greased everything. No relief. When you push down on the front end, or push the truck from side to side, I can re-create the loud infamous "creak-creak" noise. Had one shop tell me I needed ball joints and control arm bushings. Had them greased, and the sound did not decrease at all. Didn't want to pay to have that done unless I knew that was the problem. So, I was under the vehicle and had someone pushing it up and down while I sprayed lube everywhere...didn't help. Finally, I took a 2x4 and used it to push on the side of the torsion bar while the truck was being pushed up and down....and while I did that, it did not make the noise. So, WTF is causing the noise? I don't trust taking it to a shop, because I'm not a fan of the "throwing darts at a board" method, hoping one of them will hit the bullseye. I want to fix the problem...not replace every part under my truck until the noise goes away. I am not a mechanic, but I am a reasonably logical person, and I figure it has to be something with the torsion bar or the torsion bar mount. What do ya'll think?

I know the "creak" noise issue has been posted before, and I've looked at the threads....but no one mentioned pushing on the torsion bar and it stopping the noise...so I'm posting up hoping for some help!

I'm not sure if this is the same but I had a "snapping" sound on my '00 2wd Jimmy when I drove over bumps which I could not reproduce in my driveway or figure out. Dealership determined that it was the front spring insulators.
