Hello All, I have a 2002 chevy blazer ZR2 Model, The question i have is has anyone ever heard of a lower intake manifold? The reason i ask is that i was told i may have a Antifreeze leak, Internal causing lifter noise. I was told this is common on these vechicles. But i never heard of a lower intake maniflod before. Do they mean the valley pan gasket? Scott in CT

Yup...true on all counts
The lower intake manifold is aluminum and sits between the valve covers under the upper intake which is black plastic or composite material.
If you do a search on intake repair there is several how to's floating around here.
Its not terrible but not for the non mechanically inclined. It took me about 12 hrs give take...taking my time.
if you have an internal leak it is an asap fix issue....it will burn out your bearings and trash the engine.
