Does someone have any experience with LPG on a vortec engine?
Mine drives fine on lpg but would like to put lpi in (injection); This because I have had several small explosions when accelerating too hard.
Seems that with lpi this problem is over with.Need to find a way to put injectors in the intake manifold next or close by te other(gasoline)injectors. My Saturn drives fine on sequential injection(lpi) and aparently, one can change the pcm(from the lpi) over to multipoint lpi.In the UK is a firm who makes them, but, they dont give ANY info(witout buying).
Thanks for reponding.
P.S. as a retired garagist I mounted hundreds of normal lpg instalations like Landi,Centurion, etc, but with modern engines I want to LEARN !

Unfortunately, here in the US, LPG is mostly used on agricultural and industrial vehicles and has not made inroads into the public secter much. Hopefully, someone else on here can help you out.
You might want to try and do some research from some companies in South America as most vehicles done there run LPG, from my understanding.

Thanks, I drove my 95 4x4 blazer vin W. now for 252 thousand Km's without any major problem on LPG, which is better for the engine and the "milieu". My car passes every year for MOT inspection (in Belgium very severe). The only problem is...that when I want to accellerate like on gasoline, it has NO power! ....Very painfull with such a big engine.
My Saturn (sw 2 1900cc) accell's faster. Thay's why I would find out some more about multipoint lpi. This engine is sort of ..experimental, because 1996 has the sequential injection and is easely adapted to LPI. LPG gas is in Europe largely available in evey country and ..increasing. It cost's 1/3 of the gasoline price and half of the diesel, but only half CO and soot.!!! I still use a Caterpillar lifter(towmotor) from the sixties on LPG( bought from the Belgian Army) with 6800 hrs on the counter and the engine is never been opened. So, LPG which is a residue from cracking crude oil by making mostly plastics( gasoline and diesel are only small demands),is much less attacking the enviroment. If somebody is interrested, I am studying diesel+lpg fumification, in order to reduce "soot" and increasing power.Soory this might not be the proper site but who knows....... Merry x mas.
