I have a '03 2wd blazer 4.3L auto, 116K miles. I drive my truck back and fourth to work on the highway everyday (i'm and aggresive driver) i've had an issue with ether the "check eng." light being on or the "ABS" light being on. never both at the same time, but one is always on, they change every couple of days as I drive. when I check the codes I get P101, MAF out of range. I did clean the MAF, it was dirty and the alum. housing had alot of white corrosion on it(inside the venture) Is it possible that the two circuits are connected and how can I fix the problem. I work on cars on the side so I have a good mechanical ability, but when my cars break, I can't figure them out, please help.

Also, when i'm on the highway and I want to pass someone, the trans will downshift and the engine revs up, but I don't feel much pulling power and it takes a while to speed up. I can hear the engine roaring but I don't feel it, i've rebuilt many trans. in the past on other cars because they were splipping but this doesn't feel the same, it just feels like i'm pulling a trailer full of bricks.

Aggresive driving will always land innocent & green drivers at your impatient mercy! I am a Class 8 CDL instructor and ALWAYS point out the car drivers are most aggresive and actually save no time! Countless times I have 4 wheelers race by me just to get off an exit that I was signalling usage for and which, due to their failure to look ahead at the red stop light, had to jam on their brakes! Which leaves me,at 40 tons,an even less margin of safety! JUST WHAT IS IT WITH THESE PEOPLE? Because,if I hit them from behind:I am automatically at fault! I just wish drivers would understand physics!

On many GM vehicles the MAF and ABS systems are connected but I can't say for sure on the Blazer. On my Corvette they were, but a lot of that had to do with traction control and pitch and yaw not necessarily ABS by itself. My suggestion would be to start with what you know and go from there. Get a MAF from the junkyard and see what it does.
