Default MAF question

If I were to delete the MAF on my Blazer in favor of a CIA, how would it run? I mean in the long run. Like would it run like crap? Would it hurt MPG? I know this is a NOOB question, but Im having to learn everything on my own. But I dont want to screw something up haha.

It would not run well. The MAF sensor is crucial to proper engine operation. It can run, but it won't run optimally. That's why all of the CAI kits for the 96+ trucks come with the couplings to incorporate the MAF.
