i hope you used the screened EGR gasket to prevent future particals clogging it up again right?

No.

It's too bad for me I had no idea there was such a thing.

Although the root cause of this EGR clog was a near-catastrophic engine failure- sudden hydraulic lockup from a gasoline flooded cylinder from a bad CMFI module.

well if it clogs again, blow it out with compressed air and then use the screen gasket....
