Maybe the stupidest post
Like the title states, stupid post and problem.
So in my 98 blazer i keep my left foot resting along side the kick panel.
Now the problem is when i open door to get out my dumb shoelace gets hung up on the hood release and opens the hood.
Am i the only one that is having this issue ?

Funny story here. Back when I started racing (back when Reagan was president), my first pair of racing boots were lace up boots all the way to the top. One of my first races ever, after driving schools, the loop of my shoelace knot got wrapped around the clutch pedal. I didn't have a proper "dead pedal" at the same height as the other pedals, and as I after up shifting down the straight, when I put my foot down on the floor, the loop got wrapped around the clutch pedal. I come to the next corner, and it's time to hit the brakes and down shift. In that car, I used my left foot to brake, except this time, when I went to move my left foot to the brake pedal, it was caught, tied to the clutch pedal. I had a bit of a panic. I did manage to spin the car while still on track, and get my right foot on the brake and plant it to the floor to lock the wheesl (to spin off in a predictable direction), but I went off into a big open field on the outside of that turn (thank God there was no wall or guardrail at the outside of that turn back then). The corner worker cracked up laughing when I said, "If you'll just reach in here and untie my left shoe, I'll drive safely back to the pits."
I bought new racing boots after that, with laces at the bottom and velcro at the top, and the velcro goes over the loops from the knots when I tie them, so there's no loop loose to catch on anything. For the weekend when it happened, I had duct tape wrapped around my shoelaces so it wouldn't repeat.
