First things first the brake lights never shut off. I did some research and figured it has to do with an circuit box thats under the car.

One weird thing that I cant figure is that whenever i put the car in reverse I hear a clunk noise. Doesn't happen with any drive to neutral or vise versa, just reverse.

Also near the parking brake there are 4 cut off wire cut off hanging loose. I am not sure what the functions of these are but I am guessing since its wiring its gonna be costly?

 

the clunk would probably be a u joint, the 4 wires might be from a braking harness ,the
previous owner may have had an electric baking system for a trailer, if you can trace the
wires see where they go might have something to do with your brake light issue
