Anyone have any idea how many shop hours it takes to replace an electric fuel pump on a '98? Just got the bill for $725, and I thought it seemed a bit steep. The pump itself is listed at $350, so $375 labor? I was thinking this was maybe a 4hour job, which would be around $200 or so. Any input appreciated.

Where did you find the list price for the pump? Was it on your receipt?
How does your receipt break down?

Labor rate of $75.00 hour for 4 hours = $300 plus shop disposal costs and I can see it costing $375

That's actually fairly cheap for labour...go to a dealership and you'd be looking at $80-90/hr and up.
