Default MU1733 Fuel Pump Strainer

Hello everyone!!! I just bought a 2002 4dr blazer a few weeks ago and I am replacing the fuel pump with a ACDelco Mu1733. I bought the pump new from amazon and it did not come with a strainer. The pump that came out of the vehicle is a Delphi FG0052 and the strainer does not fit on the Delco pump. The bottom of the Delco pump is completely different and I don't even see how a strainer would fit on it. Does anybody know if the strainer is bulit into the Delco pump or a part number for the correct one? Thanks Jack.

You will have to do a cross reference to make sure that:1) you ordered the right pump
2)that the pump hadn't been changed previously with an inferior design or 3) that you indeed have an 02 tank in your car. So many posts have been made on this forum with ALL the correct part numbers for certain tanks! Use the search feature...Good luck!

Both pumps and the tank are the correct parts for the vehicle but the delco pump is a new design that did not come with a strainer and the delphi strainer will not fit on the delco pump so I need to know the part number for the correct strainer for the delco pump. Thanks, Jack.

Better make sure it's a genuine AC Delco. The MU1733 comes with the strainer already attached. Gotta be real careful ordering from Amazon & Ebay, they can be very deceiving and make you THINK you're getting an AC Delco. If it came in an AC Delco box, they mave have done the old switcheroo and gave you a knockoff pump. Been known to happen on more than one occaision

EDIT: Even the el cheapo ones come with the strainer: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Fuel-Pum...2d5e80&vxp=mtr

Is there a way to see the difference between an Acdelco pump and a cheap one? I am going to order the mu1733 from Amazon (fuel gauge bad for five years), since they seem to have the cheapest price. I'd like to be able to tell if they switched it before I go through the trouble of installing it.

Bumping this since I am holding off ordering the pump from Amazon until I know for sure I will be able to tell if they pulled a switcharoo before installing it. If I take a picture and post it here will someone with more knowledge be able to tell if it's an Acdelco? I've order a few parts from Amazon, and call me naive, but I never thought they would pull a scam like this.

Post a few high resolution clear pictures of it, make sure at least one is taken directly down inside the module.
