Default My 1st post. Fuel Pump? Fuel Filter? Help!

Where do i start? I have a 1996 Blazer 4x4 4 door. All was fine until one day it wouldn't start. Took it into the shop and they said it was the fuel pump. After replacing the pump it ran fine for 2 days then wouldn't start again. Took it back and they replaced the pump again it still wouldn't start for them. they replaced the fuel filter and then it started. After another few days it stopped again. This time they said it was the wiring harness. They replaced the harness and it ran again only for a day.

Come to find out, if i keep trying (for 20minutes or so) I could get it to start. Then the next day it wouldn't. After it starts it seems to be fine.

Just to test i disconnected the fuel filter and turn the key on. I can hear the pump but no fuel comes out of the line.

So, after 2 pumps, 1 filter, new harness, I'm still having same very hard to start problem.

I should mention also, The 1st time they dropped the tank they broke those plastic lines. They ended up replacing that part from a junk yard. Also a few years ago the engine was replaced with a 97.

I guess my question is. What can I test next? and how?

If you have any suggestions please reply.

Thanks
Charles

did you replace the sending unit or the wiring harness all the way down the frame rail? I would also check the lines right at the fittings on the back of the engine or at the spider cause they might be restricted. I would also make sure you're not losing oil pressure cause that will cause the fuel pump to shut off. Check the oil sending unit.
