My engine temphas been concerning me lately, I have a picture of the gauge here:
The tempurature doesn't waver, once it gets up there it stays put. I just need to know if this is too hot and I need to get a lower thermostat or what.

Picture?? LOL
Anyway, the factory gauges are quite inaccurate and should be used as a reference only. If your temps are holding steady and warm up times are fairly short, then the thermostat should be operating normally. Temperatures could be verified via a scan tool, but not everyone has access to one.

Guess my eyes are going bad, too, but if the gauge is showing operating temp of ~200 to 210 F, you're good to go.

That is the normal range for a 195* stat.

Yeah, that's right where my old bravada would be.
And about that, I really don't miss it. The Rainier is just a more refined version of the Bravada in my opinion. It still goes through creeks, mud, and, well, haven't driven through snow yet, but it does the other just like the Bravada did and in some cases a bit better as it has more ground clearance and a bit better approach and departure angles (stock for stock). Only thing that bothers me a bit is how defenseless the bottom of the radiator seems to be on the Rainier. I've already added the stock skid plate for under the radiator, but as soon as I get my welder, I'm going to be tying it back in to the lower cross member behind it with a plate of steel.
