Question Mystery hose

So, I was under the Blazed today looking for a possible transmission leak when I noticed a bundling of hoses on the drivers side near the top of the transmission. There, one of the hoses just terminated. I couldn't get my camera in close enough to take a clear picture but the hoses grouped together where fuel lines but the one in question (obviously). It almost looks like some kind of over fill hose? Maybe something for the automatic transmission? I couldn't trace it back to anything because of the tight space between it and the chassis.

Does anyone known what I'm referring to? Again, I have an automatic 2wd truck.

Maybe it's a vent hose for the transmission? As it heats up water moisture needs to vent out somewheres.

Do you have a body lift on your blazer? I can't see anything above the tranny...dang body is so tight against the transmission. I dropped a torx screw driver changing the distributor rotor and that dang screw driver is now stuck between the top of the transmission and the body.

Only way to get that sucker out is take tha body off.

Its ok,ive got 2 extensions and a socket stuck in my frame from doing idler arms swaps. lol

to the OP. Since you have 2wd we can rule out vacuum hoses for the 4wd switch. Can you get us some pics (even if they suck) is it behind the distributor by chance?

chris015, sounds like you need a magnet on a stick. I did the same thing when I was changing out the steering linkage on my Blazer about two months ago. Nice little tool to have around - 5 bucks at Autozone.

So, here's the hose.

It looks like a vent hose the more I look at it. Especially, since it's bundled with what appears to be an OEM zip tie.

Look on then other side of the trans,up on top, you'll see a little vent. usually a clear plastic piece of hose. see if that hose runs from it. if so,its the vent,if not Id just start the truck up and see if its drawing air,if not,i wouldnt worry about it.
