Dear Hate in Ohio, it could still be a bad tire. Can you get a good tire--spare, friend, buy? ---and swap it to the position you think is making the noise. Drive it and see if the noise goes away. It could also be many things in the suspension, esp. if it is a 4WD! But always eliminate the easy possibilities first.
Is it a 4WD ? Info on your hated SUV is very helpful in getting good info and solutions. Put the info in your signature and you won't have to remember to include it each time.

 

Is there any movement in a lightly held steering wheel in time with the sound? Does the sound change when you are braking?
