Hi everyone! I am new to this sort of stuff but I could really use some help. I have a 1999 Blazer 4 door 4 wheel drive and only 82,000 miles on it. My truck has had some 4 wheel drive issues (such as: everytime I push any button that has to do with 4 wheel drive, my "service 4WD" comes on.) My main question is: Everytime I get on the freeway, my truck becomes very loud and seems to start shaking. I was mainly curious to see if anyone else had experienced this problem or if mythoughts are correct and if that is the case do I need a new transfer case. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Describe the loud noise that you hear when driving on the highway. Is it when you are in 2wd or in 4wd? Also when the "service 4wd" comes on, does the truck go into 4wd?

I had a problem with my truck last september when I would drive on the higway and my truck would be so loud that it sounded like a frieght train. Turned out to be a bad rear. I had to replace the whole end on my truck. Hopefully that is not the problem you are having because it costed me 1600.00 for a new Jasper rear end.

 

The noise that i expierence is when i get just passed 60mph. it is extremely loud but it seems to be coming from the engine compartment rather than the rear.

according to the dash llights i have on my truck, it shows that my truck is in 2wd. i tried to use ita while ago and ever since then, everytime i hit a button that says 4wd anything the service light comes on and once i hit the button to go back to 2wd it shuts off. i will take some pictures to see if that will help diagnose the problem.
