Default Need Help with Electrical issue

Hey all,

Quick background first 1998 Blazer ZR2 high mileage abused truck The battery is less than a year old and drains out after a day or 2. I haven't the time to chase this one down yet too busy trying to get the truck to drive down the road straight. The radio in truck is aftermarket but plugged in a harness adapter so under dash is not cut up. Previous owner was a stereo guy I disconnected his big heavy gauge cable from the battery nothing is left in truck from his stereo other than some disconnected wires.

The Problem:

So I figured I check the the OBD port with my scanner and wow was I surprised with a nice shock, not a little static shock I mean a drop what you are doing that got my attention shock. Its not just the obdII I thought I was imagining things as I enter and leave the truck back of my legs bump metal and shock it has happened all week.

The OBDII port is only screwed into the plastic dash didn't think that would make any difference so I moved on to checking the battery. I cleaned every cable coming off the battery on both ends. small corrosion nothing major. I used the battery Gel to protect from future corrosion snugged it all back up and charged the battery nice and slow 2amp trickle. leave it sit a few days I open the door an zip I am at 9.2 volts and every dash light is on.

I can understand a drain but the shock is a bit much and makes me wonder what else is not right?

I am not an electrical guy by any means my cars are always very simple old Chevy's so I will do what I know and start looking for a drain but I doubt even after I find it that it will fix the shocking obd2 and chassis.

I searched a ton of posts on here about battery drain and Yup I got that was wondering if there is something I am missing about the shock I am receiving?

I will try and keep post updated with my progress for future members with similar problems.
