Need some help..BRAKE ISSUE...New Rotors/Pads/Calipers/Fluid etc

Did you *have* to replace the backing plate in order to replace the ABS sensor?

Yes, the sensor is part of the backing plate on 2 wheel drive.

A couple of things come to mind. Since the left caliper has gotten hot, perhaps your flex hose is starting to collapse. This can cause a hard pedal and make the caliper lock up. When you expanded the caliper, did you open the bleed valve or did you let the cruddy brake fluid back up though the ABS unit? Lastly, on the spongy brakes, I'd check the rear wheel cylinders. I've had bad ones cause that numerous times over the years.

Hello guys and thanks for all the replies and input.............

Well I can report that it is fixed....well I believe its fixed! LOL

I disconnected the battery for a hour or so and reconnected...ABS light is off...went for a good 20 minute drive at varing speeds and varing brake engaugements (soft, medium and hard) and all seems well.

Pedal is better than what is was, but will probably bleed the entire system again this weekend.

When I bled the system, I used a hose and 2 litre bottle to catch it........

It won't hurt to check the rear wheel cylinders. A stuck cylinder can make the pedal feel a little spongy. It won't let the internal piston move but it doesn't holdit solid either.

Ok..throwing gas on fire here........

Problem has returned.....

Took it to Advance and the put on the code reader for me.....

I got like 4 codes for the ABS...dont recall right off what they were, but one was something about an open circut and Right Rear blah blah blah....

Will being doing new drums, shoes and other assorted hardwares here in the near future...

Until then, I just pulled the fuse and put some black tape on the instrument cluster to hid the lights that was rubbing salt in my wounds...

Will get it licked her soon after all 4 corners are squared away...

Might be looking at getting a ABS module in the long run...

Post the exact DTC's in the order they are retrieved, and we can help you. Without knowing the DTC's, all we can suggest is to throw some parts at it, eventually you'll fix it, unless it's a wiring problem

Let gravity do the work for you.....gravity bleed is the only way to go on Blazers. Still go the normal order:...left rear, right rear, right front, left front. Just let it drip and keep the reservoir full.
